Insurance Authority Committed to Implementing Annual Policy and Program: Chairman Ojha

Kathmandu – Chairman of the Nepal Insurance Authority, Mr. Surya Prasad Ojha, stated that the authority remains fully committed to implementing its annual insurance policy and program. He made the remarks during a press conference organized to discuss the annual insurance policy and program for the fiscal year 2082/83.

Chairman Ojha explained that the policy and program have been developed to present the Authority’s operations in a systematic and organized manner. “We have aimed to transparently present how the Authority functions. This initiative is intended to guide annual policies and regulations, and to develop an accessible, trustworthy, robust, and high-quality insurance system that benefits all stakeholders,” he said.

He further emphasized that the primary goal of the policy and program is to develop a competitive and reliable insurance system and to strengthen institutional governance in the insurance sector. “By enhancing the quality of insurance services, the program aims to develop a modern and sustainable insurance system, minimize risks to life, property, and liabilities, and contribute to building a resilient economy,” Ojha added. “Moreover, this policy will help protect the interests of policyholders.”

The annual policy and program also identifies priority areas intended to make the insurance sector more efficient and effective, according to the Authority.
